As you probably guessed, I love old reliable cars and the Toyota Corolla certainly ticks all my boxes. I'm talking about the older Toyota Corolla, 1992 - 2000 models. I know that the newer shape Corolla's are still reliable but the model talked about here really are bulletproof. If you don't have much money to spend and you need a good reliable car, forget about the Fiat Punto's, Renault Clio's, and Peugeot 106's. They are mostly money pits. Not forgetting the Citroen Saxo, what a money drainer. And if you don't have the money to pump into car repairs your not going to be on the road driving for long.
Toyota Corolla 1992 - 2000 Scrap Value - £110 - £150 (2014)
Corolla Estate Scrap Value - £130 - £190
I've had a lot of cars over the years and every one of the cars of the mentioned makes I have had have needed constant repairs done. Not for consumable items either. Something was always wrong with them. Electrics, Coil packs broken, Engine warning lights, Sensors, Misfires, Leaks, you name it. Have I just been unlucky. I don't think so.
They are just not made to last. In my opinion you can't go wrong with Japanese cars. They are much more reliable in every department, especially engine wise. Older Toyota Corolla's are cheap to buy, cheap to insure, and extremely reliable if taken care of. The 3 door models look quite nice too. You can buy a used one for as cheap as £450.
Anyway, you came here to find out the price to scrap your Toyota Corolla 1992 - 2000. They weigh over a Ton and of course the Saloons weigh more ( not much more) then the 3 door version. The scrap Value is around £110 - £150. Accept no less then £100. But then we have the Corolla Estate version. Scrap Value for the Estates is around £130 right the way up to £190. Accept no less then £120. And that's even for the older 1995 - 1997 model.
